Today’s Achievements thus far:
- 25 Minutes of morning yoga
- 11.4 km run
- Completed a document needed for our mortgage application
- Attended successful board meeting
I started today’s entry on a positive note. One of my key shortcomings and areas I need to focus on is being more positive — transforming myself from a pessimist to an optimist. I tend to look at life from the negative angles rather than the positive ones.
Today I have had a bit of a negative outlook. But if I look at what I have done today, I need to be proud of what I have done.
Every day I need to get better than the last. That does mean I need to be patient, and trust the process as overnight miracles do not exist — even though I always expect things to happen quickly!
I have always been a good starter but very weak on the follow-through. In grade school, our year was split into quarters and teacher feedback during parent-teacher conferences was — “Nicolas started out the quarter brilliantly and then just let go midway through the quarter”. This has followed me into my teens, 20s, and now 30s. I have great ideas and am great at starting things, but am unable to finish and pull through as the going gets tough.
Now, enough is enough. If I do not turn myself around now, this really bad habit will continue to haunt me throughout my life.
For now, my action plan is:
- Read 30 minutes per day — Wim Hof Method
- Read 30 minutes of GTD (Getting Things Done) and get it done.
- Stick to working out 5 times per week
- Put together a positivity plan
- Continue to eat clean during the week
I will check in tomorrow and let you how I have progressed.
